RESPONSE TO GROWING COVID-19 (Coronavirus) PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS
In response to the order issued by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine declaring a “State of Emergency” and the World Health Organization’s determination of COVID-19 as a global “pandemic”, Judge Jay A. Meyer and the Seneca County Juvenile and Probate Court announce the implementation of temporary safety procedures.
Seneca County Juvenile and Probate Court will remain open at this time, however, effective Monday March 16th 2020 and continuing until further notice by the Court, all non-essential cases will be continued until a later date. Parties and legal counsel who are affected by these continuances will be notified by the Court. The Office of Court Services, which includes Probation, Diversion, Community Service and Administration will be closed. All contact with the office of Court Services will be conducted by phone by calling 419.443.0388, ext. 1302 for services and 419.443.0388, ext. 1301 for Administration.
Many requests can be addressed by phone or e-mail. Please call the Court prior to arrival to determine the need to physically enter the Justice Center. To contact Probate Court, please call 419.447.3121 and for Juvenile Court, 419.447.4912.
If there is a need for additional changes in Court operations, we will notify the public as soon as possible through the media. Hopefully, operations can soon return to normal, at which time the public will also be notified through the media. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
